Mom was born in Pennsylvania on October 8th, 1932.   She was one of 8 children, 4 boys and 4 girls, and was christened Rita.   She spent most of her young adult life in Pennsylvania.   Later she moved to Washington, D.C. where she lived for several years.   After that, she settled in Maryland.   In 1989 she retired with 35 years of service at our local phone company, and moved to Florida.   She loves Florida, it's hard to get her to come visit up here in Maryland.   I don't blame her though, who likes to shovel snow, when you can build sandcastles in the sun   :-)   She is an avid gardener.   Any plant that she touches flourishes!   She is very talented with her hands, give her a piece of material, and you'll have the most gorgeous dress!   Her newest hobby is quilting.   As a matter of fact, she went to Europe with her quilting club! (06/15/99--07/06/99)   She brought back lots of wonderful souvenirs!   :-)
